Sometimes people equate break-ups with BREAK-UPS, or the end of a relationship. Not so for Gulati and Aaliya in Break Ke Bad. They take a break from their relationship and actually BREAK it.

Break Ke Baad is a 2010 Hindi-language film starring Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone in leading roles.
Aaliya and Gulati have been friends for years, since childhood, but something changed when they reached their teens–they became boyfriend and girlfriend and found themselves an inseparable couple. But something went wrong, Gulati was always serious and straightforward when it came to their relationship–Aaliya was wild and rebellious, she’d smoke a cigar in front of her elders–who cares right? She went ahead and applied for enrollment at a school in Australia, who cares right? But, she got in, and had to break the bomb to her boyfriend and mom.
It was time for a break–a big break for Aaliya and Gulati’s relationship. But what did that mean? Who knows? Will they ever find each other and love again?

Nice, clean love comedy aimed at a younger generation. The two actors match each other well, and do a good job. Not too much music in the film, it was more of a plot centered film. The beginning credit scene was very creative and well directed. If you like Australia and films like Salaam Namaste, you’ll enjoy this one.
