Once upon a time in India, A dancing girl named Dia (Dixit) falls in love with a National Geographic Photographer. But all is not well in her life, as her parents are shamed that their daughter could fall in love with someone from outside the village, so they quickly get her marriage fixed to a local hotel and cafe owner named Mohan, but the Dia and Steve elope and move to America.
Years later, Dia is a Dance instructor in New York, she has a Daughter and is no longer with Steve. While teaching a class, she recieves an urgent call from India and discovers her Dance guru is dying.
Dia and her daughter pack up quickly and return to her home village, but find her Dada (dance teacher) has already passed, but not without leaving her a message and a final wish: to save the village’s ancient theater Ajanta from demolition.
She manages to make a deal with the local magistrate in charge of selling the property to a shopping mall builder, the deal though is that the historical theater might be saved if she can bring people back to Ajanta. So she must gather up villagers to put on a performance of Laila – Majnu and reclaim the villager’s love for theater and regain their trust.

A heartwarming film about finding love and being true to your feelings and heritage. It’s a story of overcoming troubles and finding what is important.
