Blue Film Review

Blue Movie Review (2009)

So, we’ve had Blue kicking around on our laps for a few months now, and have hesitated to watch it. We picked it up finally, two weeks ago, but then agreed to stop watching it. Weeks later, we finally finished it and have a few thoughts.

Akshay Kumar, Zayed Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Lara Dutta star (with special ap. by Katrina Kaif).

The film starts out in the Bahamas.  Sagar “Sethji” Singh (played by Sanjay Dutt) lives a happy, laid back, diving life with his wife Mona (Lara Dutta), (who loves to dance, but can’t get her husband to join in on the fun).

Sagar likes to hang out with his rich friend Aarav Malhotra (Akshay Kumar) and go dancing, and fishing, as well as diving together.

Sagar has a brother in Bangkok, who he hasn’t heard from in five years, named Sam (Zayed Khan). Sam is into racing, and likes to get himself into trouble.  One day at a race, he met a girl whom he made his girlfriend, her name was Nikki (Katrina Kaif). But Nikki got him into some trouble, and he gets blackmailed. He has two options: Death or 50 Million Dollars.

And so sets the stage for the story.

Kylie Minogue appears briefly as Akshay Kumar’s love interest at a nightclub and sings a little number.

Our Rating: 3/10

This film has a extremely predictable plot, and can get a bit disturbing for comfort. The movie is boring, and drags on for a long time. One of the best parts of the film is the Kylie Minogue Music scene, as well as a few brief moments near the end.

The film is more of an older man’s film.
